After a skills review and audit, Knowsley LEA asked Altru to develop and deliver a one day training course for their primary learning mentors which would develop staff confidence and inspire learning mentors to be more creative in their work with young people across the borough.

The training used recognisable drama techniques as well as participatory games and activities to give participants new and transferable skills. The course also aimed to impact on participants’ attitudes and behaviour towards drama and their job role – encouraging creative thought and developing existing skills in a new, creative and fun way.

This is an innovative course, developed by Altru Drama with the clients’ needs in focus, and is a great example of the imaginative and creative ways in which we are working with businesses and government agencies to develop new working practices and effect behavioural change in the workplace.

We are happy to create and deliver new courses, on a variety of themes and topics, for staff, volunteers, general public young people and children. We can use drama to advance understanding and knowledge, to create a positive and engaged working atmosphere or to break down barriers within a team.
