Our ‘Play in a Day’ sessions have become a valued part of many schools' teaching and learning experience, allowing children to explore a topic, think creatively and develop their transferable skills including confidence, communication & listening skills and teamwork.
One class of children work for a whole day with a qualified and experienced workshop leader. Learning about the topic through recognised drama techniques and activities and rehearsing their performance throughout the day. Our rehearsal techniques allow all young people to get involved as we do not use scripts and use many ensemble and group techniques such as soundscapes, still images and choral speaking.
At the end of a very rewarding day the pupils perform their play to the rest of the school and, should you wish, their parents – providing a great peer learning opportunity and a fantastic sense of achievement for all involved.
We have a large number of topics you can choose for your Play in a Day and the list is constantly expanding, with schools asking us to think up new sessions to meet their needs. To name a few we’ve delivered Play in a Days on The Tudors, Respect, Transitions, The Environment, The Ancient Greeks and our Anti-Bullying Play in a Day is always very popular – particularly around National Anti-Bullying Week in November.
